A group of robbers broke into the house of businessman and goldsmith Pranab Kumar in Char Chenga Bazar, Hatiya Upazila, Noakhali. They used an intoxicating spray to render the residents unconscious and looted 35 vori (approx. 408 grams) of gold before escaping.

* The robbers entered the house at night and sprayed an intoxicating substance to incapacitate the residents.
* Before entering, when the family questioned their identity, they grabbed Pranab Kumar’s mother by the throat to silence her.
* After looting the gold, the criminals fled the scene.
